I Should Be A Surfer

I have learned quite well, how to ride the waves of this journey, even though I'm ready to get out of the water... Sometimes I may fall of my board, sometimes I get pummeled by the wave and am smashed into the sand, but sometimes I actually catch my balance and carve pretty well...

I think right now, I've found a good stance on my board, found my balance, and am able to ride this current wave of a donor cycle, a cycle which I figured would just finally be smooth...I guess not.

Dotty 2.0's ultrasound today showed her ovaries are still a little swollen from her previous cycle and they want to keep her on birth control for just a bit longer. So I'm going to stop my estrogen, stay on lupron, get a period (which shouldn't take too long, but just in time to be up north at my parent's cabin for the weekend.. yay), and then start estrogen again and a week from then, we'll re-check my lining and see if her ovaries have chilled out and ready for a new cycle...

Speaking of chilling out, it's my "Friday" night as I'm off work for the next 4 days. I just got back from a pedicure with my sweet friend J, poured myself a glass of wine and am ready to forget that I am still surfing the waves of infertility for a few days.

Enjoy the long weekend everyone, the end of summer, and hopefully a beginning of a beautiful fall... waves and all.

Sounds like a PERFECT start to a long weekend :)

Hoping for calm ovaries that will wake up when they are told :) xo

I am coming over for a surfing lesson I think. Glad you are doing well and riding this out- I know sometimes that feels easier than others. So, so hoping for you... Enjoy your weekend.

A 4 day weekend is great!

I hope the break that Dotty 2.0 takes means that she will have superb eggs ready for you. Wishing you the very best.

Wine and Pedi sound good.

I'm sorry that Dotty 2.0 couldn't move forward. I'm hoping that this little time off of (some) hormones will be nice. But, man, you have been taking shots FOREVER. A pedicure and glass (bottle) of wine sounds relaxing...IF teaches us that we have absolutely no control. We're all just riding along. I hope this fall brings much promise for you.

Sorry I've been out of the loop. I'm glad you ditched Dotty and that Dotty 2.0 shows more potential. A small delay? Hell girl, you can surf with the best of 'em. I hope that this proves to be well worth it soon, very soon!
As always, sending you strength & love!

If only we could have the surfer girl body too.

I've just been knocked down and pummeled and am looking to my bloggisphere friends for inspiration. Somehow I knew I'd find it here.

I admire your strength and resilience.

Ah yes....surfing is awesome. Sometimes the waves are mere tiny swells, and sometimes they're hurricane-worthy. Either way, I love that you're steadily stable on your board. With a glass of wine to boot! ;-)

K, love the imagery! This is all almost, almost laughable. How much more patience are we expected to have? You my friend are doing an amazing job of balancing and I know it has not been easy.
I hope you have a *FUN* weekend and know, no matter how many of these stupid setback you have had, your time will come...this much I know!!!
Let's give each other medals of honor for patience...

Good for you for standing tall on that board! Glad I found your blog! We will be doing our 7th donor egg transfer this month- an FET- with a surrogate in India. We have been knocked down by some very big waves but so far, we have managed to get up every time. Looking forward to following your journey! Best, Bernadette
